So this is it. Last perfect frame you get before the premiere. I've tortured you enough, right? What I love about this shot is the mystery. The way Taylor is lost in the lights looking for something. The way we're all looking for something... If you go back to the inspiration post you can see what this image was inspired by. As always thanks so much for the support, emails, and comments! I'll keep you posted with the premiere info next week.
Wow, Another nice frame, thanks for posting. Only four days away, you have been great sharing with everyone all through this, thanks!!!

Fabulous frame for a sure-to-be fabulous video! I hope everyone flocks to Yahoo and pumps up the hits, because if ever a piece of footage merits that, this one has got to be the one!
Posted by: Gypsee | Friday, February 13, 2009 at 05:18 PM
I love the warmth that the lighting gives the picture. Give it a blue or silver lighting and it might be construed as ominous or dangerous. You have made me recognize the influence of lighting on telling a story. It has been fun and interesting. Thanks and I wish great things for you and your crews' success.
Posted by: cypfan | Friday, February 13, 2009 at 06:04 PM

The juxtaposition of the bright lights against the dark and solitary figure, is fabulous.
It is such a great portrait of someone who is so deeply immersed in their thoughts, that they don't notice the affects of the dazzling lights, which attempt to beguile and seduce him away from his contemplative mood. Bravo! Excellent work.

Many thanks for keeping us up to date/in the loop in the making of this video. Not many pros would do that, so kudos!
One of the coolest elements (one of many, I'm sure) in this video is; Taylor experiencing real snow. He made many a comment of never having the real stuff. Now not only did he do so in person, it will be sealed for the vault. Meant to be? hmmm :)
Anxiously waiting ......
Posted by: ktintn | Friday, February 13, 2009 at 07:27 PM
Superb! Lighting and focus are well done.
Thank you!

Beautiful shot, Jake...thanks for keeping us in the loop! Are you going to miss us after the video is released and the dust settles?
Posted by: PatP | Friday, February 13, 2009 at 09:54 PM
You have truly captured your iconic Taylor. The street frame is as classic as a Humphrey Bogart movie! All of the Perfect Frames are visually stunning and will surely capture an unforgettable moment with Taylor's music.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us on TTHC and bringing this beautiful work to us. I can't wait to see "What's Right is Right" ~~The Video. I know it will bring a new dimension to Taylor Hicks, the entertainer!
We have seen a lot of good "frames" of Taylor~~yet none so striking and "perfect" as these. Thank you!

Jake, this stunning videography is going to get people to stop DEAD in their tracks and watch from beginning to end. Then they will remember that they have not been breathing, and will start again. Maybe. It's what's called TIA. Taylor Induced Apnea. There is no cure.
Posted by: BaDaBling | Friday, February 13, 2009 at 10:15 PM
As Taylor would say, "stick a fork in me, I'm done".
That is one sensational photo. Put all three of them together, add 1000's more and that video is going to be the end of me. But, in a good way.
I love the lighting. Kudos to you and your staff and Taylor. His time has come and I'm glad you are a part of it, Jake.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Nice lighting, going for the 'big bubble' effect. Puts the man in a good light.
Thanks, Jake.

I went back to look at your inspiration board and can visualize (from earlier tidbits) how you moved from the hazy vision to the glowing finish. Smoky club; singer on stage; blues performer; solitary man; dark street/bright lights; the city at night; and finally the club scene.
As is said in many professions -- you get what you pay for and in your, Taylor has paid for the best. The concepts you used in this video are so professional and earthy/gritty may have set another standard and raised the bar for future videos.
Thanks ~~ the wait is almost over but the anticipation is still high.
Posted by: juliegr | Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 08:57 AM
So, are we going to see this video on VH1? I'm crossing my fingers.
Posted by: Vanza | Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 09:03 AM
Jake,
To be able to create these visions is truly remarkable. Just from these pictures you have released for us your talent is incredible. Thank you for saying yes to Taylor and this project. We all know how talented Taylor is and your work will certainly be a valuable asset for Taylor. Taylor is a timeless entertainer and with your help here many more will be see his unlimited ability to showcase that talent. Thanks again from Taylor's fans for releasing these shots. As has been said before, Taylor is perfecting the art of teasing his fans and you are right on board with that concept. I say....Keep It Up!!!!
Three more days and counting......I hope you and Taylor do another project together.
Happy Valentine's Day

OMG Jake !! What a truly beautiful music video. It is so very mysterious, dark, lonely and very sexy. It is so subtle, it just grows on you each time you watch it. Very very old school and very much Mr. Taylor Hicks.
Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful piece of art!
Posted by: PBoyers | Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 12:02 AM
Afraid to say too much. The video is everything you told us it would be and more - so much more. You captured the essence of Taylor, the multiple meanings of the song. All! You did it all! Thank you!
