"You can't always get what you want."
- The Rolling Stones
I admittedly know nothing about manufacturing or distributing shoes. But can someone please explain to me why a shoe as perfect as the Clarks Lugger is still not available to purchase in New York.
Is it the Lugger's lack of availability that makes it so appealing? What sets the Lugger apart from the readily available Desert Boot, Desert Trek, Natalie, or Wallabee?
Those are wacky cool - never knew about them.
They're shaped like you're supposed to store a little jack-knife in them.
Good luck tracking them down!

i'm still trying to find a store in NY that carries Natalies - any idea?

Those are the greatest Clarks I've ever seen. Wow.

I bought a pair of Natalies on Broadway downtown back in the day. But I haven't been in the market for them in a minute.

Although I'll always have a soft spot for Wallabees, I think the Lugger may be my favorite. My sister scored a pair a while ago...I don't get it, I feel like they would sell like hotcakes.

Been wanting these for awhile. Only ever found them in England a long time ago.
And still mad I slept on them back in the day.

I just saw these in Korea over the holidays...which probably means the rest of the Asian market's got em too.

Are these even made overseas right now? It seems like Clarks is getting the idea, especially with the p&b style repros they've been doing with the proper toebox, insole and profile. Maybe that will turn into these other styles coming back as well. I'll be crossing my fingers for the Weaver to come back.

i love clarks desert boots and am not a fan of the wallabees. but this is an awesome shoe. i would buy this in a heartbeat. i went to clarks' uk website and they have them in two colors that are a different shade of what you have on this site. one is called bamboo scratched and the other is macara scratched. which color is featured on this site?

Not sure who asked above, but the ones I saw in Korea were made in China, not UK or Ireland.
Funny thing was that it was mostly middle/high school students wearing them with their school uniforms. It definitely wasn't a part of the style-conscious crowd over there.

These are so DOPE. I have been rocking Wallabee's for years. Never ran across these, but would love to have them. Great post.

I love 'em - they remind me of pizza pops

LOL!!! I had to google pizza pops... I didn't know what they were. They DO have an uncanny similarity. Good call.

natalies, luggers and weavers are old models
they had them all over NYC circa 1998.

A friend bought them over seas a bit ago. They will be here in the US soon. Hold tight.

I heard about these watching a Ben Harper DVD a few years back. He was crazy about them and the DVD shows him having the driver stop while crusing down to street and he runs out to pick up a pair. I could not find them anywhere online at the time. Then I was in Tokyo myself about 3 months ago & picked up a pair in smooth brown leather. I actually work for the buying office at Urban Outfitters thus asked for the Clarks guys (whom we already do business with) if we could get these in the US. They were cool with it and we even got them to do it in our favorite chestnut suede(as pictured on the post). It was to be an exclusive for us this fall but now they put it in the US line offering so others might have jumped on it. Anyway, solid work on the post. Good thing I get to use my discount to pick 'em up!!!

Because most of you are divs and haven't got the fogiest when it comes to style, tho your your top of the tree when it comes to fads, sorry fashion.

I'm a female and that tends to have an eye for certain shoes.
The Lugger caught my attention when I saw them on a guy a few
months back on the train in NYC. I just like the way its shaped
and I think of this shoe as a "breath of freash air". LOL
Can anyone tell me where I can get them?

I really agree with the facts that you have shared on this post. An interesting topic like this really enhances reader's mind to have more effective decisions over a certain issue.
