I've always been heavy in the way driving gloves looked on the street. And was always consistently made fun of for wearing them without having any intentions of driving a car. But once I heard the story of how Ralph Lauren used to get made fun of by his peers for wearing cowboy boots on the subway I didn't care anymore. Now actually having a car I can see why the gloves were designed in the first place.
J.Press and Dunhill both have beautiful pairs in that amazing tan luggage leather. For those that drive a car everyday, rent one for a weekend getaway or just like the way they look, either one of these are a must have...
i think driving gloves have a somewhat more casual appearance than the typical leather gloves most people wear. i wouldn't worry about people laughing at it. if it looks good, it looks good

Jake, I like your thinking and I make an unashamed plug for what is undoubtedly the best source of driving gloves in the UK for the style conscious, for quality and sheer range:

These are incredible retro gloves! As long as you actually do have a car of a motorcycle to drive and you want to wear them anyways that's cool! I don't think any one would laugh!

Heheh, yeah, the gloves are a rad look. Of course, they function very well in giving you a good grip for driving, especially on road trips. The gloves are made for riding through long roads, though they do feel nice when moving through traffic as well.

Function aside, they go well with the look of car. Cars can be made cooler with the image of a stylish driver wearing those gloves.
