Steve McQueen in Bullitt directed by Peter Yates
Okay, so the man made everything look cool. Maybe watching that epic car chase for the millionth time is getting to my head but I'm really feeling a navy turtleneck this season. It's a tough one as you can quickly look like the other Steve. No disrespect, but you know what I mean.I wouldn't just buy any turtleneck. I love this traditional fisherman turtleneck sweater from S.N.S. Herning which is knitted in Denmark. There's a toughness to it that conjures up thoughts of another icon. Any thoughts?
Jake, I think we're going to see a lot of people wearing turtleneck sweaters now thanks to you. S.N.S. Herning is classic.

CLASSIC slice of the best chase scene pie. More than a few years back the Beasties opened their Lollapalooza set with the entire scene playing on numerous big screens and the sound of that Fastback pumping over the PA, more than a few fans not yet versed in the likes of Bullitt, LeMANS were transfixed.
Kudos on the blog, always nice to see others who "get it" some of the time & in your case lots of the time. Keep up the good work!

I can't pull it off. It wouldn't make sense for me, but if you can make it work then by all means. McQueen made everything look cool.

Bought a black one about two weeks before this post. My inspiration was a pic I saw of James Dean. Won't be wearin' it with a pair of slacks and J.Purcells though!

I saw several S.N.S. Herning sweaters up close at Winn Perry in Portland OR. They look great. They feel great. They're works of art. I left the shop wanting to get rid of the fifty ba-zillion sweaters I currently have and start over, with just a few amazing sweaters like the one you have pictured.

Agree w CE! Love SNS and love Winn Perry.
The turtleneck is awesome but McQueen is one of few who pull it off with a sportcoat--most normal people end up looking like Hunter.

That S.N.S. turtleneck looks gorgeous, but the 200 euro price tag puts it out of reach for me.
What do you think of Popeye Doyle's clothes in another classic chase scene: The French Connection.?

How did Rock and roll bring us to the music we have today?
For example, how did rock inspire artists to create music genres such as rap, and other new songs/genres that we now have. Also, did rock and roll always have a rebellious tune? If not how did it change to that?
