Before the blog days all of my tear sheets would go into different inspiration folders for my films. I dug into the archives today for a film project I'm developing and found this amazing photograph. My ideal stylish sage archetype. I have no idea what magazine it's from. What the actually clothing is. Who styled it. Who photographed it. I know it has to be at least a few years old. I love it even more now than I did back then. It's so good on so many different levels, I had to share it with you guys. The way his beard and trapper hat mesh in palette and highlights. The pipe and coat are the same color combination. The camouflage cargo pants feel natural and not contrived. The layering of technical fabrics. Even the goggles feel right, as off balance as they are. When clothing tells a story like this it's amazing.
And speaking of Senex inspiration, my man Mordechai aka Mr. Mort does a fantastic job of capturing grandpa style on the streets of New York City like no other, with an impeccable eye for detail and obscurity. Keep a lookout for what he's shooting this winter.
