Intrigued would be an understatement. Under the radar would be another one. Prior to receiving their lookbook I had never heard of J.L. Powell but I have to say I really love what they're doing this Fall. Their recently launched lifestyle video is beautifully done. They have a selection of incredible pieces that really speak to the zeitgeist.
From the Quoddy-esque moccasins to the ostrich leather Sorels, I'd expect to hear a lot more from them in the future. I've highlighted some of my gems above. If you haven't checked out their products please do. It's real serious...

Have had the catlogue sent to me over the past year...some nice gear, but outrageously expensive. Not sure of the durability of the gear, but agree with Jason that it's not any different than Orvis.

Derivative of Orvis, and Orvis on a not particularly good day. A more urban alternative is FMAllen.com, some excellent pieces with neither the J. Peterman-wannabe copy nor the cult of personality that JLP attempts to impose on the reader.

Agree with Burt's post. Ordered 5 items, received four. On the order/return form all were listed as shipped. Called customer service and the four were backordered a month. Before ordering I had found several similiar complaints. Should have known better. They are not Orvis. Also, the customer service rep. would not give me HQ's phone number.
