My good friend Emile Haynie makes hits. He's produced some of my favorite songs for Kanye West, Eminem, Lana Del Rey, The Rolling Stones and Fun. He also happens to have impeccable taste in furniture, art, and gear. When Emile isn't recording in his Chelsea studio or chilling at his pad down the street from me on Bleecker; he's traveling the world collecting all things great.

He frequents Japan and has an affinity for some of my favorite brands like 45rpm, Kapital, and Visvim. He particularly loves Visvim mocassins. We have a very similar aesthetic and share the same philosophy about the things we purchase. Obviously the way things look plays a strong role but it's also about durability, quality, comfort and exclusivity. You want something a little bit different that's going to last. The more you wear them, the better they look. And even though new styles come out every season, you never feel out of style wearing an old pair.
