Supreme Mural

    

Last Saturday we shot a time lapse video of the new Supreme mural on Grand & Wooster. A classic area in Soho, which features some favorite landmarks like Lucky Strike and Deitch Gallery. You may remember Banksy's rat previously occupied the spot. We shot for about seven hours and compressed that into thirty seconds. You can watch the result over at the Supreme website. Believe it or not the artist painted by hand. It's a pretty amazing process.

While you're over at the site be sure to check out the Fall preview. The guys did another amazing collection. I had seen bits and pieces but it's always cool to see it all in one place. Some really beautiful coats, shirts, and accessories that will definitely find their way into our wardrobe...

By no means am I an interior designer. But as a film director I know what I like and how to achieve it. I'm really into stacked frames on the floor. There's a laziness effortless cool about it. What I really love more than anything is the juxtaposition of imagery in my living room right now. A modern Lou Reed in color against a nostalgic black & white Bob Dylan. Both icons have their arms crossed and a look on their face that says, "I don't give a fuck." And I think that's what stacked frames on the floor say as well...

Kaws x i-D Magazine Interview

I met Kaws in the late '90s. Back then I would get out of film class at NYU and go bug out at Union or Stussy... Talk music, film, art, check the new gear, people watch. One day James Jebbia introduced me to Kaws at Stussy. He had just done a piece with them for the store that was really dope. I paid him a compliment and kept it moving. At the time you could actually walk around and see his street pieces in Soho. I thought the bugged out paintings he was doing over high-end fashion ads were really fresh and new. Cut to ten years later and I wouldn't have imagined the down-to-earth humble dude I had met kind of randomly ten years prior would create some of the most visually iconic imagery of the decade. The moral of the story... Everyday is an opportunity to not only inspire but to meet inspiration. So keep your mind and eyes open at all times because you may have just shook hands with the next Kaws...

NYC Waterfalls x Olafur Eliasson

"The New York City Waterfalls" is a public art project of four man-made waterfalls rising from New York Harbor, some as high as the Statue of Liberty. The artist Olafur Eliasson's much-publicized initiative will appear from June 26 to Oct. 13 and run from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. I've been inspired by Olafur's previous installations and this one is his grandest yet, definitely not to be slept on.
