The Results: Best Men's Style Blog

Acl-logo

Mw

Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean photographed by Angelo Baque

The idea of "the best" has never sat well with me. As an artist the concept is subjective. People that use the term are usually trying to sell you something. When I asked you all to vote for the best men's style blog I had my reservations and wasn't quite sure what to expect. As in life, I was less concerned about the results and much more interested in the process.

Thank you so much for the overwhelming response. The experiment was a lot of fun. For those that voted for me, even though I asked you not to, I love you for that but I had to throw your vote away. The results are hardly science but merely the most diplomatic I could come up with. I pondered with the idea of not posting them but I thought that would be a major let down. The purpose of this wasn't just bar talk debating your favorite fill in the blank. It was to discover, inspire, and create a resource of information for everyone to enjoy. I call it a celebration of dope shit. Everyone of these sites is so different from the next it's really impossible to compare them or even rank them. Nonetheless...

Congratulations to Michael (ACL), Ryan, Owen, Simon, & Ken (Inventory), Scott (The Sartorialist), James (Secret Forts) and everyone else who's putting in the work. These guys and many others inspire me everyday and hopefully you as well. Thanks again.

The Vote: Best Men's Style Blog

StyleBlogs

The time has come people. The rules are simple. Pick your top 3 men's style blogs. You can vote as many times as you like. Vote for yourself if you're bringing it the hardest. Real names, fake names, anonymity, whatevs. I don't care. The only site you can't vote for is this one. We already know it's the best... Psych...

But for real I'll be counting and posting the results on Tuesday. And if you don't see your favorite site's logo above that's no reason not to vote for it. Bless us with the heat. You know you're just as curious as I am, so hit me with your top three below in the comments section...

Top Picks: Hickoree's Hard Goods

I think the reason I love the staples of workwear is not only for their aesthetic value but what they represent. I love work. I love rolling up my sleeves and putting in the time and energy, late night stee to make something dope and timeless. Albeit my work is much more creative than manual, in my mind it's all the same. Work is life.

With that said a lot of my work is done sitting in front of a computer where the internet has become a great resource for inspiration. As I would imagine it has for most of you as well. In a celebration of this modern day contradictory anomaly here are my top workwear picks from a recently opened online only hard goods store Hickoree's. And if you're not in the shopping mood take a look at the original source of my findings, another great blog created by Ryan Plett called You Have Broken The Internet.

H(Y)R Collective Magazine Issue 11

New issue of H(Y)R Collective Magazine is out and it's another burner. Check number eleven just to see my good friend and downtown New York style leader, Angelo Baque's modern interpretation of haberdashery. I think we're going to see a lot more militant camouflage patterns mixed with traditional plaids below 14th Street. Also my man Isa Saalabi's Fall preview for Nom de Guerre is wicked. Alexander Olch, Spring Essentials, and the Isaac Hayes playlist round out the highlights. The full co-sign...

The Moment x JJJJound

Jjjjound

So we've all been trying to figure out who this kid is for a while. My Supreme heads were sure it was someone in the circle. But that's not the case. Justin Saunders is killing it by way of Canada. For those that don't know JJJJound is the truth. I know he's taken some images from this blog, friends, and other frequented dope sites. I love his taste and the way he juxtaposes beautiful imagery. The kid has confidence too... "The blog posts will have no titles. The photos will be random. No text either. Just great photos. (BTW, this is going to be your favorite blog)" You gotta love that... So stop reading these words and go check him out...

Sexy People

YoungTerry

Sexy People is... craze. A little bit of ironic humor can get you through the day. I mean I still quote Napoleon Dynamite and Grandma's Boy on the daily. Check a young Terry Richardson above. That's a joke... This kid's name is Wally and he's dope as hell. Check Sexy People for "a celebration of the perfect portrait." And yes they have a category just for those ill laser school portraits, just in case you were wondering. Thanks to Owen at h(y)r collective for the heads up...

H(Y)R Collective On The Come Up

Hyrcollective
That's Ryan Willms (left) and Owen Parrott (right) of h(y)r collective posting up on the kid's Soho balcony. These dudes are definitely making it happen. Attacking downtown NYC at full speed by way of Vancouver. Look for profiles on some of the people (Brendon Babenzien, Jeff Staple, Isa Saalabi, and others) that run it down here in upcoming issues of their magazine. Look out for the kid in September's issue as we breakdown Cool Hunter and the secret ingredient in Magnolia's cupcakes...
